Where does my gift go?

When you give to a specific fund or campaign, we honor that designation. Gifts to a campaign go toward that need, and gifts to a fund support the work of that fund. If a specific need is fully met or cannot be carried out, we direct your gift to the area of greatest need consistent with our mission.

Is there a fee on my gift?

A 3% sustainability margin supports the cost of operating this giving platform. That is the only margin we apply. Strategic Partner gifts carry no fee: 100% of every Strategic Partner gift goes directly to serving Christian missionaries and church staff.

What makes us different from other giving platforms?

Most giving platforms simply move money between strangers. We are a 501(c)(3) foundation built for one community: Christian missionaries and church staff. Every need is brought forward by someone close to the family, reviewed and approved by Rivergate Foundation, and support is paid toward the need itself rather than handed over without accountability.

Can I give to the greatest need instead of choosing?

Yes. The General Fund exists for exactly that. We direct it to whichever part of our work is carrying the heaviest need when your gift arrives.

How do I give from a donor advised fund?

Step 1: Log into your DAF account Use your donor portal with your DAF provider (e.g., NCF, Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable). A donor advised fund can't be used for a Gift Collection. Gift Collections are personal gifts to an individual, so please give to them directly from your own card or bank account.

How do I give by wire transfer?

Send us a message asking to give by wire, and we will reply with the account details.

Can I give monthly?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Monthly givers make up the Legacy Circle. Steady monthly support lets the Jubilee Fund respond faster when an urgent need arrives.

How do I change or cancel a monthly gift?

Accepted Answer

A monthly gift continues until you cancel it. You can change or cancel at any time by contacting us.

Are my gifts tax-deductible?

Rivergate Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 33-4057503). Gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law, except where a fund is clearly marked as not tax-deductible.

Which gifts are not tax-deductible?

Gift Collection funds are personal gifts directed to an individual, so they are not charitable contributions and are clearly labeled as not tax-deductible. For the same reason, a donor advised fund can't be used for a Gift Collection.

Can a church give to a Jubilee Fund for one of its own staff?

Accepted Answer

No. Gifts from the family's employer, including their church, can't be accepted for a Jubilee Fund. A church that supports a missionary but doesn't employ them isn't their employer, so it can give. Members of the church, and anyone else who knows the family, are welcome to give personally.

Will I receive a receipt?

Yes. A receipt is sent for your gift, and your giving history is available in your account.

Who can apply for support?

Support is for Christian missionaries and church staff and their families. If you are not sure which fund fits your situation, start with which fund is right for me.

How do I refer someone else?

Use the same starting point at which fund is right for me. You do not have to be the person in need to bring a need forward.

What happens after I apply?

Applications are reviewed by Rivergate Foundation. We may request additional information. Submitting an application does not guarantee funding, and we may decline any application at our discretion.

Can a need be kept private?

Yes. Some needs are sensitive, and those campaigns are never promoted publicly or shared on social channels. We only display a family with their permission.
